View from ferry deck approaching terminal

IKEA brooklyn ferry terminal

My new terminal with the use of porosity considers possibilities for future expansion of commuter traffic and mimics the surrounding piers. A new water taxi connecting small town, Red Hook with downtown Manhattan has increased traffic in Brooklyn.

As you walk towards the water, the floor and ceiling comfortably slopes to adjust the tides, accessible for both handicaps and IKEA carts with heavy products. The scattered programs and stalagmite seating benches help playfully veil the setting sun on the horizon.

what is biomimi?

Biomimi is the art portfolio of Priscilla M Lee. It is also, in main ways, her middle name. Biomimi is short for biomimicry, a holistic design approach inspired by nature. Nature has perfected sustainable design, by handling issues without harming the environment and contributing positively to the ecosystem. It is her strong belief that we should reference nature for our own designs, in hopes to increase appreciation for the environment and sustain life for all.
